Online Players Will No Longer Enjoy Data Mining

Online poker players that enjoyed mining capabilities will soon end due to the announcement of the Microgaming Network. They have been caught up by the times and will eliminate the data mining capabilities of the online poker sites.

Data-mining occurs when poker players’ uses third-party tools that isolate the common weakness in their game by the display of hand histories and gain an edge over their opponent. In line with this, the company decided to make an immediate action to stop these players from having any access to damaging hand histories.

Andrew Cuclas, head of operations for Microgaming says that “Claims has been rising over the long-term effect of third party software upon the poker industry as a whole, and in particular the negative effect it has on the recreational player demographic.” They wanted to eliminate data mining to bring new changes in times.

Eliminating the data mining would bring fair playing and secure environment for all poker players. Microgaming also claims that they are not seeking to alienate its winning players as the change occurs in the Weighted Contribution. In every poker game, there is always a winner and a looser. Cuclas also stressed that they only support operators in attracting and retaining all the recreational poker players they have online.
